Privacy First: Your reptile care data stays on YOUR device. We don't collect, store, or have access to any of your personal reptile information, photos, reminders, or care logs.

1. Overview

Exotic Reptile Care is designed with your privacy in mind. This app functions entirely on your device, and all your personal data remains under your control. This Privacy Policy explains what limited information we collect and how third-party services operate within the app.

2. Data Storage - Your Device Only

All of your personal data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

Reptile profiles (names, species, ages, etc.)
Photos of your reptiles
Care reminders and schedules
Weight tracking logs
Shed cycle records
All other app data and settings

We cannot access this data. It remains on your device until you choose to delete it.

3. Information We DO Collect

The only data we collect is through third-party services for analytics and advertising:

3.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the free version of the app. AdMob may collect:

Advertising ID (a unique identifier for your device)
Device type and operating system version
IP address (approximate location)
Ad interaction data (which ads you viewed or clicked)

This data is collected and managed by Google, not by us. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings.

3.2 Google Analytics (Coming Soon)

We plan to integrate Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. When implemented, it will collect:

App usage statistics (which features are used most)
Device information (device type, OS version)
Crash reports and performance data
Session duration and frequency

No personal data or reptile information will be included in analytics.

3.3 Apple App Store

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. Apple handles all payment information according to their privacy policy.

5. How We Use Information

The limited information collected through third-party services is used to:

Display relevant advertisements (AdMob)
Understand app usage patterns to improve features (Analytics - when added)
Identify and fix crashes or technical issues
Measure app performance and stability

6. Your Control Over Data

6.1 Your Reptile Data

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

View: Access all your data anytime within the app
Edit: Modify any information whenever you want
Delete: Remove individual entries or clear all data through Settings → Clear All Data
Backup: Your data follows iOS backup settings (iCloud or iTunes)

6.2 Advertising Preferences

You can control advertising:

Remove Ads: Upgrade to Premium subscription to remove all ads
Limit Ad Tracking: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → toggle off "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
Reset Advertising ID: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Reset Advertising Identifier

6.3 Notifications

Control notification permissions:

In-app: Settings → Enable Notifications
iOS Settings: Settings → Exotic Reptile Care → Notifications

7. Data Security

Since your personal data never leaves your device, it's protected by:

iOS built-in security features
Device encryption (if enabled on your device)
Your device passcode/Face ID/Touch ID

We recommend keeping your device updated and using device security features to protect your data.

8. Children's Privacy

Our app is suitable for all ages. Since we don't collect personal information (beyond advertising IDs handled by Google), there is no collection of data from children. Parents can use the app with their children safely, and all reptile care data remains on the device.

9. Third-Party Links

The app may contain links to external websites (support pages, privacy policies). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app with an updated "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be communicated through an in-app notification.

Your continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

11. International Users

Since your personal data is stored locally on your device and not transmitted to servers, international data transfer concerns are minimal. The only data transmitted is to Google services (AdMob, Analytics), which comply with applicable international data protection regulations including GDPR.
