1. Information We Collect

Data You Create (Stored Locally Only)

All the following data is created and stored exclusively on your device and your personal iCloud account. We do not collect, access, or have any visibility into this data:

• Tank information (name, type, size, setup date)
• Water parameter readings (pH, temperature, ammonia, etc.)
• Livestock details (species, names, photos)
• Equipment information (brand, model, purchase dates)
• Maintenance schedules and journal entries
• Photos from your device's camera or photo library

Automatically Collected Information (Anonymous Only)

AquariumPulse may collect anonymous, non-identifiable information:

• App usage analytics (crash reports, feature usage - anonymized)
• Device information (iOS version, device model - no personal identifiers)
• Notification preferences and settings (stored locally)

Important: Any analytics data collected is completely anonymous and cannot be linked back to you or your aquarium data.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Provide core app functionality for tracking your aquariums
• Display your tanks, livestock, and parameter history
• Send you reminders for maintenance tasks and testing
• Generate insights and health scores for your tanks
• Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud
• Improve app performance and fix bugs

3. Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

All your aquarium data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData, Apple's secure data persistence framework.

iCloud Sync

If you enable iCloud sync:

• Your data syncs to your personal iCloud account
• Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Only you can access your iCloud data
• We do not have access to your iCloud data

Photos

Photos you add to your tanks or livestock are stored locally on your device and synced to your iCloud account. We do not store or access your photos on our servers.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your aquarium data is yours alone.

Limited Exceptions

We may share anonymized, aggregated data only:

• To improve app features based on usage patterns
• For crash reporting and debugging purposes
• When required by law or legal process

5. Third-Party Services

AquariumPulse uses the following third-party services:

• Apple CloudKit: For iCloud data synchronization
• Apple Analytics: For crash reporting and app performance
• Google Analytics (Optional): For understanding app usage patterns

These services are bound by their own privacy policies and terms of service.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Access and Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View: Access all your data within the app at any time
• Edit: Modify or update any information you've entered
• Delete: Remove individual items or entire tanks
• Export: Export your data in CSV or PDF format

Disable iCloud Sync

You can disable iCloud sync at any time in your device's Settings. This will stop syncing your data to iCloud but keep it locally on your device.

Delete All Data

To completely remove all your data, delete the app from your device. If you have iCloud sync enabled, also remove the data from iCloud settings.

7. Children's Privacy

AquariumPulse is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. The app does not require account creation or personal identification.

8. International Users

AquariumPulse is available worldwide. Your data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account, which may be located in various countries depending on your Apple ID region.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do:

• We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• We'll notify you through the app if changes are significant
• Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of changes

10. California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know what personal information is collected
• Right to delete personal information
• Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we don't sell data)
• Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights

11. Data Retention

Your aquarium data is retained:

• On your device until you delete the app
• In your iCloud account until you remove it
• Analytics data is retained for up to 2 years for app improvement purposes
